Privacy

What we do with your information.

You fill in a form, it arrives in our inbox, and one of us reads it. That is most of this page. The rest is the detail, written plainly, because a privacy policy nobody can read is not much of a promise.

Who we are.

Working Web is Dale and Dawn, a two-person studio in Australia. When this page says we, it means the two of us, and nobody else. You can reach us at hello@workingweb.com.au or on +61 466 875 125.

What we collect.

There are two forms on this site, the contact form and the free audit request. Between them they ask for:

  • your name
  • your email address
  • your phone number, if you choose to give it
  • your website address, if you have one
  • whatever you write in the message box

All of those except the message are there so we can write back to you. Nothing on the form is collected for any other reason, and there are no hidden fields quietly gathering anything else.

If you email or call us instead, we have whatever you chose to tell us in that email or on that call.

Where it goes.

A form submission is sent straight to our email inbox. It is not saved into a database on this website, and there is no customer account or login here to hold it. In practical terms, your enquiry lives in our email the same way it would if you had typed it to us yourself.

Cookies and tracking.

This site carries no advertising or social media pixels. Nobody is retargeting you, and nothing here is sold or handed to an ad network.

We do use Google Analytics, which sets a cookie so it can tell a returning visitor from a new one. It tells us which pages get read, roughly where in the world people are, and whether they arrived from a search or a link. It does not tell us who you are, and we have no way to connect a visit to a name or an email address. We use it for one thing only, which is working out which parts of this site are worth improving.

If you would rather not be counted, any browser's private mode, tracking protection or a blocker will keep you out of it, and nothing on the site stops working if you do. You can also opt out across every site at Google's own opt-out page.

The spam check described below may also set a cookie of its own on the pages that carry a form.

The spam check on our forms.

Our forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which works out whether a submission came from a person or a bot. To do that, Cloudflare receives your IP address and some technical information about your browser at the moment you submit the form. We do not see that information ourselves, and we do not receive an IP address with your enquiry. Cloudflare's own privacy terms cover what they do with it.

Without something like this, the forms would fill with automated junk and real enquiries would get lost in it.

Our web host.

The site is hosted by a large and established service provider. Like every web server, theirs keeps standard logs of requests, which can include IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting. We do not use those logs for marketing and we do not connect them to anything you send us. Please feel free to contact us if you require more details.

Who else sees it.

Nobody. We do not sell information, we do not rent it, and we do not hand it to anyone for their own marketing. The only third parties involved are the services that make the site work at all, being our web host, the spam check, our email provider and the visitor statistics described above, and each of those only handles what it needs to do its job.

The one situation where that could change is if we were legally required to hand something over. It has never happened, and we would tell you if it did unless we were forbidden to.

How long we keep it.

Enquiries stay in our email while there is a reason to keep them. If we end up working together, we keep what we need for the job and for the records a business has to hold onto afterwards. If we do not, the enquiry sits in the archive rather than being deleted the moment the conversation ends, because people often come back months later and it helps to remember the earlier conversation. Ask us to delete it and we will.

Asking us what we have.

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@workingweb.com.au and one of us will handle it personally, usually within a few days. There is no form to fill in and no charge for asking.

Links to other sites.

Where we link out to another website, that site has its own rules and we have no control over them. This page only covers what happens here.

Children.

This site is aimed at people running businesses. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this page.

If what we do changes, we will change this page and update the date below. We will not quietly start doing something this page says we do not do.
